Hard to believe they still have not found him if they found his truck.
Not a big area at all either.  That's why I fear the creek.....
Not to mention everybody carries a cell phone now days and there should be plenty of service out that way. Doesn't sound good, either guy doesn't wanna be found or something went terribly wrong for him

Im thinking fog again this am as its fairly foggy east of Wenatchee this am. I would assume it gets worse the closer to Royal City.

I've duck hunted a lot in that area of Crab Creek.  Lots of water and lots of places to fall are the first things that come to mind, difficult to navigate in a straight line even in good conditions.  Sure hope he's ok.

The fact that he was using a tree stand is what concerns me the most. A fall out of the tree stand seems more likely than getting lost in that area.

Freezing fog and 26 deg. as of 0947 :( Visibility is about 1/4 mile at best where I am at, about 15 miles East of Royal City.

Yup, that is a distinct possibility. Did they find his stand?

On a side note we just had that young gal accidentally hang herself while mushroom picking near Aberdeen. Fell off a steep embankment and got tangled up in the brush. Sad deal.

I know the area fairly well, once you get over to the bluffs there are some areas you could slip/fall and end up breaking your leg, etc

Where would someone be most likely to use a tree stand in that area? Since he was hunting out of a tree stand, it seems that would narrow down the search by quite a bit. Wouldn't it? Not a lot of trees in that area.

Probably mostly along water sources or in an orchard.

Hope he is safe.. he must be hurt in some way because how would you  get lost in royal city?

That's my thinking. Wide open country. I've bird and coyote hunted all over that area.

If he is hunting from a tree stand, I wouldn't expect him to be all that far from his truck.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Released about 30 min ago...

Search for missing hunter suspended due to weather
Near ROYAL CITY, Wash. (23NOV2015) – Due to incoming cold weather and snow expected tonight and Tuesday, search efforts for missing bow hunter Thomas Stieg of North Bend have been suspended until further notice.
About 100 searchers combed the area near where Stieg’s truck was found Saturday afternoon. Searchers on the ground and air searched Saturday, Sunday and today to no avail. If the weather is permissible, military aircraft from Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane may fly over the area Tuesday using infrared cameras.
After assessing weather conditions and other factors which may impact searcher safety, deployment of further search efforts will be determined by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and notice of further activities will be sent out to the public.
It has been a busy past few weeks with missing sportsman in Grant County. On Nov. 4, 65-year-old Connell resident Khampheng Soumphakdy was reported missing by his family. His unoccupied boat was found floating in Long Lake in south Grant County. It is believed Soumphakdy fell into the water. His body has not yet been found.
Follow new posts on the Grant County Sheriff’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/GrantCoSheriff/.
Sheriff Tom Jones expresses his greatest appreciation for the outpouring of support by citizens who stepped up to help search for both Stieg and Soumphakdy.
