This was an experiment, as much to see the process unfold and enjoy figuring out the steps with my son than for the final product.
We started by reading this several times:

Then we skinned and de-brained my blacktail skull which had been relaxing in the freezer..
Then we set up a 5 gallon bucket and aquarium heater.   
Three weeks later we had progress (1st picture).
Wife nearly ended the project due to the smell.  Even the dog wasn't interested.
Three more weeks and the skull was pretty clean (2nd picture).
Three weeks in a Dawn bath, changing the water every few days took out most of the grease. 
Project allowed inside the house for the first time.
Six hours in peroxide (not touching the antlers)
No smell and ready for the wall (3rd picture).
This turned out to be pretty easy to do, and a good learning experience!

Nice work right there,this is also my first year at it , yours looks a lot white than mine.did mine in one day with boiling, and presure washer.

Looks good.  I also did mine with a little boiling and a pressure washer in one afternoon like the post above.

A lot more work than youtube let's on. Getting the teeth white seems.to take awhile.

If you crank your heater to run about 105 degrees it will usually only take 5-7 days to totally macerate, I spent a couple years doing them at temp a around 85 and taking 2 plus weeks to get all the meat free. Nice work

Thanks blindluck, I've got a squirrel skull soaking at a higher temp now.

Keep a close eye on the squirrel skull. I had one macerating in a container outside during the fall (no additional heat) and in less than a week, the skull had fallen apart into several pieces. I was able to glue it back together, but it would have been easier if I had pulled out much earlier.
