Thanks for all the comments. This was such a great hunt and I enjoyed sharing some of the memories with you guys.

Not that scoring by any means is the ultimate measure of a trophy but some of you have been asking about the numbers of this bear so thought I'd throw up an update.  The SCI scoring dude did some official measurements last week.  The skull came in at 19 15/16".  For what it's worth, that qualifies this bear for the SCI Gold category.  I'm not yet sure what that means exactly but it does validate that this bear is indeed a once-in-a-lifetime bear.
