2017 Huckleberry Bull Moose (BlackRiver Taxidermy)
« on: December 17, 2017, 08:44:47 AM »
This bull showed up to the shop in October by one of the lucky drawers of the coveted tags. He was broken off on the right side but still a great bull. One of the most scarred up animals I have ever worked on proves he was a rumbler! Congrats to the hunter and thank you for the work. Enjoy- Joel/BRT

October of 2017 or is that a typo? That's a heck of a turnaround time. Good looking moose

Wait a minute.... A two month turn around?  Is that just for OIL tag holders or is that your normal turn around?  If that is your normal turn around I may pay you a visit.

I know everything doesn't get done in that time-frame, but he told me my deer would be done in under 6 months.  Quick turn around time aside, he does excellent work and really pays attention to the details.  Haven't gotten my deer back yet, but based on his work that I have seen, I can't wait.

Thanks for the compliments. Deerhntr4885....no, that's not a typical turn-around. There were some circumstances that made this bull go to form earlier than expected. One thing I do in my shop is all the prep/turning, shaving, and tanning for most of my shoulder mounts. This saves me valuable time instead of waiting for a tannery's timeline. This bull was also an early harvest for the OIL tag holder, so it was one of the first for the year to go to form, which also helps.
