Went out this morning, saw two bucks down low, probably legals, to dark to tell. Called three hour long set ups, usually get some birds or a doe to come in but nothing this morning. The breeze was changing directions continually and rustling the dry sun flower leaves so it kept me alert. A small bear has moved in the last couple days, not a shooter but fun to play with. Probably the same one I scouted out last week end on the other side of the ridge. It was a very enjoyable morning, great excuse to be in the woods.

I didn't make it out this morning.  1 part lazy 2 parts didn't have all my stuff together.  By 3pm when I was getting ready to leave to go up in to CF my husband decides he wants to go.  Doh!

Since he has never been hunting befor I decided to call this evening a wash and head up to SW to get him a few things.  So we'll be heading out in the morning to do some hunting.

I think it will turn into more a scouting mission though and glassing.  I have 1 spot that I'd like to try calling in but he's giving me the impression he doesn't feel comfortable with me setting up and calling.  I don't think he likes the idea of me calling in something that can eat us, LOL.  No big deal.  Their is a lot of different stuff up in CF that I can show him.

I don't know where I saw on Huntwa that someone had said they like to hunt bears in the rain but I have never seen one in the rain! I'll wait until it's done raining and then go get one!

Good luck to all

Rain doesn't bother me either but if the animals don't move well in the rain why go out?  Other than theirs that chance one bear might not have gotten the memo.  chuckle

Looking forward to a report. I went out this morning and scared some elk and deer. The bears probably are not hitting up the area I was at because the huckleberries are not ripe yet. 2 more weeks I would guess on those berries. They are green already.... I cruised around and set up a very short call session. Nothing but angry squirrels. Of course I was just checking on berries and elk more than anything  Dunno

Don't take him and don't tell him where you are hunting.  chuckle

Scott says that will be fine.  He doesn't need to know exactly where I hunt.  He also says it's a good thing I have your phone number for when I need help packing out a bear!  I Be Cool
