We have not gotten a central location set up.  I will be checking with my bank to see what we can do.  Ideally, they want a representative of the recievership to be the owner of the fund account, but we do not have any information for this.  I asked the media and law enforcement for contact information, but they have not been forth-coming.
I considered setting up a paypal account for this purpose, but then I am still out of luck on where to send the funds.  If we do not get resolution from the family or their representative, we will have to take this on as a fund raiser for education or the likes.  Not sure of the legal aspect of using her name in any way without the families permission, so I am trying to find this out as well.

Maybe Pope can find the legal side of it??

We would need to know name and number, we would need to know if it is acceptable to them, if they desire the monies, or do they care what we do with it.   Can we use her name?
If they agree, then I will need them to authorize or set-up the fund at a bank of their choosing.
I am still waiting on official answer from Bank of America..........

They interviewed Pamela's family on 13 last night, they sound like the right kind of people. They sound like excellent folks. I think they'd be real receptive to what we're trying to do here. I hope someone can make contact with them and get us together.

I've made a couple of attempts... as you can probably imagine they're a tough bunch to get ahold of right now. I'm sure once things settle down a little they'll be much more receptive to contact.

Did anything ever happen with this memorial fund for Pamela Almli?
I would like to know, because of this:

I am in as far as a donation. I think we should wait until we can contact the family and see what they want done with the money. If they do not have an idea we could give some that were mentioned in earlier posts. I like Phools idea of naming a trailhead after her with a memorial.

Just a different idea,
what about a memorial fund in her name to improve or expand on the Hunter safety classes to give these tragedy's as examples? Or adding to the curriculum?

Very well written, I really enjoy reading your column.

Last I heard about the memorial fund is someone was going to contact the family and see what they wanted.  I have not heard if contact was made with the family and if so what their wishes are.  I'm sure everyone here is still very willing to contribute.

I would be in for a contribution.

If anyone has any further information please let us know.  To me it seems that either giving it to the family or having the family name something to donate the proceeds to would be the best bet.  Leave it up to the family to decide.  They have a better idea of what she may have wanted than we do IMO.

Are we going to move forward with these donations?  And does anyone here have a contact or "in" with Washington State on how to go about naming a trail after her?
