A buddy of mine heard through the grapevine that vale tree farm and the wdfw in years past have allowed a few youths hunters to have either sex access to vale area before the actual modern season opens. Does anyone know if this has any kind of truth to it? If so any details?

Yeah, but there is a tag you have to put in for and draw. The tag gets you in a week before the general season. Well normally, this year they kind of messed it up. But yeah there is a tag to get you in early for youth in the Vail Tree Farm.

Cool, thanks for the info!

Do you know how they messed it up this year??
Also is the farm going to be open since we haven't had any rain?
-
No, it's not open for the youth permit hunt, or for anything else. There are other places to hunt in the Skookumchuck unit though, so those with permits should have been able to hunt somewhere (state land or other private land w/permissioin).
My cousin has the youth doe permit for Skookumchuck, and I'll be taking him out on the 13th, on some private property that I have permission to hunt.

The DFW forgot that it was a leap year so they had the Elk muzzle at the same time as the youth in the same unit. So for safety they moved it one week ahead to the general.
Besides the Vail where else can you acess that unit?
