I remember before the interweb when no one cared when they opened the gates. You could roll up there a week after they opened and still see sheds laying in the sage.
-
You guys have any luck yet?
-
Found a 5 point from last year, can't seem to get a picture to upload.

All done

I'm bored I'm heading down. I need a good hike anyway
-
They were still packing antlers up there when the snow melted and they scattered. This picture was in Robinson but Joe Watt was the same. I helped feed in both canyons one Sunday

That's a nice 5pt.

:yeah: impressive tails for a 5 pt.

There were over a hundred branch antler bulls around this year, a few real trophies. I'm trying to remember when I was in there and took that pic. It was probably the first of March. The snow melted mid February. I went with them fairly close to when they stopped feeding for the year.
-
Well what was found?
-
Todays find. :)

A horn and a girl?

That's the one we were after. Got a ton of cool pictures and video of that stud. I'm jealous, but nice work! We searched for the match, no luck. Wonder if somebody scooped it up?
-
It has been picked up by someone else from Ellensburg
-
Congrats on a beautiful antler Sparky, it's a thrill some monster bulls like that giant are still playing hide and go seek up in that unit!

Have you shared trail cams pics of him? If not, can you? I'd love to see him with his headgear

Unfortunately you are correct Bone, the big bulls get plastered all over the internet and BAM they are gone. lol Legally or illegally they disappear. It is always fun to share but you must be very careful who you are sharing with.

didn't you have pics of him posted?

Has every "big bull" in this thread also "disappeared" legally or illegally due to being plastered all over the internet? Just curious
-
Duckhunter, Don't take what I said personally it wasn't meant that way. I have no idea if the bulls in that other thread are still around as I don't go to Oak Creek. Just know that generally when a big bull makes it all over the internet it doesn't take long and he has a big bulls eye on his side. I've watched it happen on here twice and both of them ended up being poached. To each is own on posting some pics, didn't mean to hurt someone's feelings.
-
They gotta die sometime. Rather see someone harvest him legally than get poached. Poachers are gonna poach when they get the chance. Wouldn't imagine a poacher would hold out for that bull if one of the big seven points were in front of them. He's got some room to hide amyway and hopefully he makes it through again.

I found my wife looking for racks also!

No hurt feelings Pinetar. I think you're absolutely right. We should raise awareness. Elk lives matter. Maybe we should enact a new rule on the forum; no live pictures, trail cam pics, or pictures of sheds from bulls over 340", for the elks safety. I sure hope we haven't already sealed this poor ol boys fate!
