Don't get me wrong, stud buck, but for that price :dunno:
-
How big was it?
-
If I buck up for that tag one of these years, it'll be 90% about the experience/journey.
-
Don't get me wrong, stud buck, but for that price :dunno:
Because a 198" buck is so small.....
-
So how do I get to be part of the "in"crowd that always gets to see these things?

I just happen to be friends with the guide on Facebook.

i feel like I should know who this guy is but it's not ringing a bell
-
So post the link to his FB. It's already public if it's there.

Waiting......pic?? :chuckle:

What units did he hunt?
throw out the guides name at least!
-
Drama.......

:yeah: :yeah: :yeah:
I was just texting a couple of buddies this same thing the other day. This tag would be more about the hunt and memories with friends and family than inches of antler.

agreed! I was part of the mule deer raffle tag hunt this year. A buddy of mine won the tag. What a great time. He shot a great buck. Not a 200 inches but a solid buck that I would pull the trigger on any day of the week. Definitely fun to be a part of something you don't get an opportunity to do very often!

Drama.......
Actually drama prevention if you ask me. If you don't have the ok to post a photo, then don't. That's my .02
I call it respect.

:yeah:
Kinda funny how the mods promote posting of native harvests, or not.
-
This guy actually donated a lot of money to be able to hunt this tag and harvest one buck. He didn't go out and shoot a truck load at a feed site or wintering ground with the seasons closed for paying outdoorsmen that other hunters and agencies paid to establish and manage. :dunno:
Merry Christmas
-
Teanaway do you have permission to post the raffle tag buck? Like to see it.
-
hope it shows up here or somewhere
-
Must not be that big or we would of seen it by now.
-
Oh ya cuz no native donates money to any wildlife organization... And I don't think it's a donation. Guy spend all the money to buy a big buck... but call it a donation. Correct me if I am wrong but a guy that has that much money doesn't hunt for the meat. He is hunting for sport. Going out and finding the biggest buck so he can hang it on his wall... wow Washington state sportsman thank you for your donation.
But you Indians are poaching!! And when non natives hunt they are paying out doors men.. huh confusing because seems to me every one goes after the biggest buck they see so they can brag about it. But that's ok because u payed for you tag. Come bro think about what ur saying about natives "poaching"
I hope he got a big one and eats the whole thing😉

I'm the only mod who has commented in this thread in regard to posting photos without permission. Please show me where I have done what you're accusing me of. This has nothing to do with being a mod. This, again, has to do with respect.

People got butt hurt they were not included in the sharing of photos.

Chuckle... It's posted on Facebook and on Instagram by the guide. It's a 200" buck. If the guy wanted it posted here, he'd post it here.
-
photos on his page and the buck scored just over 198".. has some kickers and deep fork.. it is a great buck for any state not just Washington

So post it if it's fair game.
Sorry, I just don't personally agree with that. Your deer pics were posted on your Facebook page, right? How would you feel if some fella you didn't know posted them all over other social media sites without you knowing? You'd be pissed. So would I. The guide's photos of the buck are not visible to the public on Facebook. That means he doesn't want every tom, dick and Harry looking at them or posting them all over the Internet. I'll respect that. What the rest of you do is up to yourselves.
-
Oh I have had my pics shared from fb and I understand that If I want to post pics on social media that is part of the deal

First I didn't say you. Second have YOU ever extended the same suggestion of respect to a tribal harvest posted on this site?
-
:yeah:

@ Jackalope
Thanks for doing what you do as a mod. I have no doubt this takes up lots of your personal time, and is clearly a thankless job. Lots of us appreciate what you and other mods do.
I hope people do not lose sight of this, this site is to share experience for those who want to share.

emac is correct! The Hunter is not a member here. He knows I am and he did not tell me I could post and I'm not going to ask.

If the question or discussion whether or not to post pics comes up and I am involved in the thread I would say the same thing. I will reiterate that as usual, this thread had nothing to do with anything tribal at all, yet somehow someone decided it was a good idea to go there. No surprise really. There's one in every crowd(thread). Unfortunate really, but not surprising.

His FB profile pic of the buck and his Instagram are both public. Whether the hunter himself knows that or not is another story I suppose. :twocents:

I've seen the Instagram pic. Last I looked I couldn't see any pics of the buck on Facebook. That was the day the buck was killed though. Sounds like he changed his profile pic since then. I'm still not going to post pics just because they're visible somewhere else and that's the only point I'm trying to make. What someone else does is completely up to them.
-
I was given permission to post the photo so here he is
-
Brute😱, what a deer!
-
Yep, same as was posted on FB. Congrats to the hunter and thank him for sharing.
-
Oh my...... :yike:i love it. Any more pics? Story?
-
I have a bunch of pics of him after they got him off the mountain, and don't have permission to post. I know its not a big deal to most, but these tags are so controversial they just like to keep it under wraps as long as they can. You know, that whole pay for a trophy thing so many of you don't agree with.

Nicely done to the hunter, a true 5x5. :kneel:
-
Nice buck for a nice guy that has spent a ton of money for wildlife and wildlife habitat over the years. Good for him.
Who was the guide? If its on facebook it can't be much of a secret.
-
That's a great buck. 198" is just amazing. It is awesome to know that they are out there. It would be great to hear the story. I would love to be involved in one of these special hunts some day. Until then I will cherish the ones that get during the general season. You never know one day I might stumble across a buck like this in the general season.
Congrats to the hunter and please thank him for sharing with us all.
-
The guy that was with him is Ian Wood, he's just a friend of the tag holder who's hunted with him in past years when he's had the governors tag. He's a great guy
-
What a nice buck. Perfect for that tag! Well done and congrats to the hunter.
-
Id put any tag on that buck! Congrats on a great deer! Buck of a lifetime for most people! If he shot a spike with that tag on the last day that's his choice....Like others have said it's always nice to get a big buck but having a great hunt is always better  I ate my general tag this year but helped 5 others get their deer and I'll have those memories of their excitement for the rest of my life. To each their own but it's not always about size. But that is a giant buck!
-
That's a beautiful buck, congrats to the hunter!
Now, someone hurry and put the drama llama out to pasture and lock the gate.
-
Great buck !!! I was optimistic he'd show up on here
-
That's a nice buck wonder what unit
-
Yep, same as was posted on FB. Congrats to the hunter and thank him for sharing.

Dang it, that's a whopper.
Congrats to the hunter on a serious trophy buck.

If you can get your hands on the front profile and permission to post do. The side profile doesn't do that buck justice the frontal pic is amazing.

Lots of people take pics without their orange, doesn't necessarily mean they didn't comply with the regulations.
That being said, I don't think he was required to wear it that time of year in that area. :twocents:
