Title: Yesterday scouting
Post by: jasonl84 on September 08, 2017, 09:49:56 AM
Got into a clear cut around 730pm yesterday, when walking down the path I heard a loud sniffing multiple times down hill in some nasty brush. I checked the wind and it was my favor but light. As I froze to listen I heard it brake a limb. I choose to back out and before I could get 20 yrds I heard more sniffing on the other side of the rd. I froze and heard some brush move but never saw anything. This is only my 3rd year hunting elk and was just wondering if this would have been the time to just sit and start calling?
The other problem I see is the amount of day light left by the time they start moving. 20- 30 mins before dark. Thx and Good Luck to Everyone.
