Seems to be a very popular Elk hunting area near the SW Washington/Oregon border according to the folks at Animal Planet.

It takes a very expensive Rayonier permit to hunt that area.

I never knew Salmon Creek just north of Vancouver was a popular elk hunting spot :chuckle:

Right on, looks like some prime timber country! Minimum bid of 2 grand for modern? You gotta be kidding me! :yike: I thought they might have done the filming in the video link near the Salmon Creek in Skagit County (South Sedro-Wooley - Google mapped it), although I could be wrong. One thing's for sure; Animal Planet's editors must have been somewhere off in the land of Oz when they put location descriptions together in the first 10 seconds of the video!

There is a Salmon Creek near Naselle, close to Long Beach too.
-
I wish that location description was correct. I could walk a few minutes from my house on the paved trail to hunt elk. Would be an easy pack out but might leave the sidewalk bloody.

:yeah: I was getting ready to set up some trail cams around the Vancouver Clinic and Safeway! :chuckle:

:chuckle: :chuckle: Yeah - I grew-up around Vancouver and when I first saw the map location I thought "where the heck is this popular elk hunting honey hole just outside my back door that I missed out on all my life!"

Yep - I think that's the one that Bobcat noted as well, which seems to be the legit Salmon Creek as far as hunting goes.
If I threw down a blind where the Animal Planet editors placed "X marks the spot," I'd have some pretty angry homeowners on my case in no time flat! >:(
-
There is one that dumps into the Skook up near Johnson Creek Rd too. Guessing that aint it, though there are elk that area for sure (Gerneral area of the Steam Plant/ Centralia Mine and Weyerhaeuser Vail Tree Farm)

None there. Better try Orchards Park. ;)

I heard the “cougar” population is out of control around there. Heard some are trophy’s and others are just mangy looking things. :dunno:
-
There's one in Toledo too. I'm sure there are about 500 Salmon Creeks.

Salmon Creek in Pacific County - Confirmed. Watched the video closely again, shows "Carol's Salon" (Long Beach, WA) in the background, while a deer is walking down the road (0:16).

That's some darn good detective work Rayborn!

Yep, they have a keen predatory sense and their desire for fresh meat is ungodly!

Thanks just my spidey sense I guess ;)
