Title: NE Region - Spring Turkey
Post by: RallyDawg on January 25, 2018, 02:07:27 PM
I am going to take my oldest boy on his first hunting trip where he gets to go out with me in the woods and was planning on taking him on a turkey hunt out around Colville in the spring.  I am not familiar with the area so I am putting in my homework to try and find some public land where we can potentially see some action for him.  Obviously I am not looking for specific but would like to know if the map information that is provided on the Chewelah Chamber of Commerce is worth using as guidance to find some suitable ground?

Absolutely,  their maps will put you in the areas and a gps and map software will keep you out of the private property.

Great thanks.  That should help locate some areas where we can camp (truck/tent camping) to make it a little more of a backcountry experience for him.  I know closer to the opening may give a better opportunity for success but I think we may wait til we can get up a little higher.
