Title: fun scouting trip!!
Post by: funkster on May 31, 2007, 08:48:45 AM
My dad and I had a great scouting trip on sunday. We were checking out an area on the wetside that we have been scoping out on the maps and google earth. I have never hunted the westside before so it was all a guess and I think it was a good guess. We saw 65 head of elk,9 deer, 2 porkipines(sp??) and a rabbit. We were mainly scouting for elk so we are pretty stoked about it. We saw a few spikes and small antlerd bulls(3-4 inch nubs) in velvet. It was alittle trek back in the woods. We traveled about 10 mile up the road then biked about 8 miles back on a closed to motorized vehicle road, but it was well worth it. It's great that I get to spend time with my dad doing something we both like,we had a blast :)

Thanks guys,it was a blast! We are planning on heading back out into the same area this weekend and staying until sunday. I'am hoping to get some better pics this time around. I'am still new to my wifes high tec digital camera and it helps if you take off the lens cover :bash:

funkster,
So did you and your Dad ever get back to the Herd during Hunting Season?
Any Pictures? Or are you still trying to figure out the Wife's Camera?  :chuckle:
