O.K. i have 4 points for deer. I ML hunt, and i have a dilema.
I have only hunted Black tails here in SW WA. And i was looking at puting in for something different, but not sure where to hunt if i get drawn, so i am asking for help.
I have thought about the
Blue Mts Foothills C Nov 20-Dec 8 White tail 3 point or Antlerless 60 tags for 370 apps?
Moses Coulee A nov 1-18 any deer, 20 tags for 147 aps?
Ritzville B Nov 19-30 Mule 3 point or ant. 5 tags for 109?
Kahlotus B Nov 20- dec 8th any deer 25 tags for 254?
I will take advice, and if i get drawn i will need help. I can't get over to scout much. But any info woul dhelp...
Thanks

I'd look at Desert, Chiwawa, and Alkali, if it were me. The Blue Mtn Foothills would be on my list as well. Not sure I'd waste my points on the other ones you mentioned.

Desert is # 1 on the list every year.
Miles, i am not familiar with any of those units that is why i am asking for help...

Sounds like he gave you pretty good advice. I'm not familiar with any of the late muzzel hunts so don't have much to offer you. I don't think you can go wrong with Chiwawa and the Alkali hunts if they are late season for bucks, again, haven't studied them.

Blue mt foothills B is my one and only choice this year...point for everything else, but it's all different gmu's than the muzz C permit...there's a ton of deer down there. there's lots of public land in the tucannon 166 unit. a lot of that you'll be hunting is burnt up pretty good from the fires the last couple years(tucannon and dayton). the areas that burned up in the school fire are greened up real good but i haven't seen the places where the columbia complex fire burned last year. i would think you'd definitely be able to put some meat in the freezer in the form of a doe if it came to that, and i think that area has potential for some good whitey bucks.

There are Alkali tags for the late hunt, but i read that access is very tough if not impossible.
-
No, access is not difficult. You just have to check in at the office first. No big deal. It's almost all public land, just being a military training ground you do have to jump through some hoops to get on it.

So i decided to put in for Desert C and Alkali C. I hope i do not get drawn fro deer this year. I put in for hunts that i would take time off work for, but i am trying to save vacation for colorado elk next year.

Did you know you can apply for just a point so you don't have to worry about getting drawn if you won't have the time to do the hunt?
-
Bobcat, i know... I just decided to put in for the hunts that i would be willing to take time off for.

"drawn fro deer"
-If I saw a deer with a "fro" I don't know if I'd shoot it, or throw it a hair pick.... ;D
"W" -I would say Alkali, but I'm a selfish *censored* and want to get drawn for it.... It is a good bet though, and you get to watch a free movie if you get drawn...
