Deer Hunting / Re: Quest for 200"

Beautiful buck and great write up. Thanks for sharing!

If you ever find yourself solo and you're trying to take a field picture, one thing I've done that has worked pretty well is just propping my cell phone up on a branch/brushpile/bush/grass clump etc and putting it on 'video' with whatever you're trying to capture in the frame. Let it start rolling, walk into the frame, grip n' grin, and then turn video off. You can then take a screen grab from the video footage. Photo quality isn't the best, but at least it's something! Don't mean to give unsolicited advice, seems like you're doing just fine, just a little trick I've had success with while hunting solo.

Other Big Game / Re: moose 10 pts or less?

About half of my hunting buddies who have faithfully put
In for moose each year have drawn.  If you put down 4 choices
And do your research on units that aren't legendary your chances
Go up quite a bit.   Moose permits are quite a bit easier than sheep and
Goat.   Those 2 are getting extremely hard to draw :twocents:

It was meant to be for sure!! But I knew it would happen this year! Like hoyt2002 stated there has been a lot of effort applied to getting this wonderful lady a deer! No matter the weapon! I have always enjoyed being a part of getting another hunter their first animal! Actually any animal more than harvesting one myself, and this one didn't fail my love by any means! The joy could be felt for miles! I'm so proud to have been a part of it!!!
And yes she stuck it right in the melon! It was sweet!

Thanks for all the help buddy.

I put a full body cow and three other guys in my Suzuki samurai. Luckily, we only had to go a few miles. There was guys and cow legs sticking out the back and sides!

Check out the Meat-Eater Meatloaf, my wife loves that even though she hates meatloaf.  I also make a paleo chili with just deer instead of the beef and sausage that it says to use.

I second the meateater's meatloaf... My wife hates venison and this is her favorite dish I make... I haven't even told her it's venison yet.

Yup.  Good stuff and fun to make.  I haven't had a single person who turned it down yet.
