Ed, that is awesome you got to do that with your Dad. Did he get a chance for a bear? Beautiful moose.

Nope, no bear.  We saw a bunch (15-20) of caribou the first two days, but after packing the big boy out we didn't see any others within horse range.  We saw two Stone Sheep ewes each with a lamb on one of the mountains way above camp though.  We also saw scat and wolf tracks on the horse path out of the camp valley but did not get to see any.  We decided to head out early as a result of the seeming lack of game (saved a bunch of my dad'd money too   ;)  ), plus we got to do more sightseeing and a little fishing as well as getting off to home three days early (my wife misses me).    8)

I caught a grayling yesterday but that was it for fish.

Thanks all.

Got to meet someone tonight, maybe you all will recognize him.  Chatted for a bit, showed him a pic of my moose (which he said had awesome fronts and was definitely a shooter...   8) ), nice guy.  He just got back into town after a hunt in which he harvested a grizzly, moose, and two wolves, one with a bow, wow!

Heading south tomorrow with a truckload of meat and antlers.  Twelve hours of driving tomorrow and ten the next two days, thank goodness for audio books.

Sounds like an awesome trip

I got to meet "that guy"  :chuckle: when he came to Sportman's Wharehouse (now Wholesale Sports) in Burlington. He is a nice guy and I have watched him on T.V. since the day that he started being on T.V.

Glad you had the chance to meet Shockey.  He is one of the good guys.  Each time I have met him I've been left with the feeling - Damn I sure wish we could have talked longer.

Sorry the mixed bag wasn't a little fuller.  But, that doesn't mean I'm not jealous of your bull.  He's a dandy.

Be safe on the way home.  That drive is brutal.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Here are a few pics from today's 12 hour drive, here in Fort Nelson tonight.  Saw 15 Stone sheep, a crapload of Wood bison, four caribou (woodland I think) and three Moose, no bulls today.  Oh yeah, had a wolf run across the highway this morning, too far away to get him with my dad's truck though.   :bash:   :chuckle:

What a great bull, Loki. Cool to meet Shockey and find out he's the regular guy he appears to be on TV. Congratulations on a great hunt!
