When I got points they said that points were only given out for big game violations. Trespassing is not a big game violation, even if you were hunting big game at the time. Poaching, shooting and animal out of season, shooting a spike in a three point or better area, things like that are what you can get points for. No there does not have to be a conviction. You can recieve up to ten points, the number of points and whether you get any is up to the investigating officer.

Trespassing is now a game violation as of this summer.  I'm having a brain fart and can't remember right now if it was enacted June 1 or July 1.

I will have to pass this on to some of our landowner friends down near the blues they get several a year it is usually handled by the sheriff I guess they will have to request a game officer.

I think the Sheriff's Office should be able to handle wildlife violations.

I meant so they could get points Bobcat I may be wrong, but the sheriff cannot do that I don't think.  They had one deer shot on the opener last year that was handled by a sheriff I don't know if it was followed up by a gamie.

OK, I understand. I'm still not sure if a trespassing charge would qualify for points though.

I realize that but I'm still not sure it qualifies.

I suspect that trespassing won't cut it for points, but turn them in anyway!

If you get points for turning in tresspassers then i would draw a tag every year.  Ive never actually called the cops just asked them to leave but some of these guys really make you think about it....

Welcome to my world Dustin :chuckle: Try driving down the highway over at our place during the season!!! Like a dang pumkin show all driving back and fourth looking for something to shoot from the highway. No one has any permission and there is zero public ground there. Just people up to no good!!!!

Maybe we can hunt the blues together  Well if you switch to archery :chuckle:

You and joe need more of a challenge now days :chuckle:

Ok wanted to bring this back up...

I had my local warden over today and got to pick his brain hard. He called up one of the head guys and talked to him on the phone with me and asked the questions I had given him. The end result is: That is a good question!!! Both are not sure by the way it reads with the new laws they say it should but they are not positive for sure. I guess we will have to wait until we submit the paper work to see what Olympia says about it. The other thing the big wig said was he was not sure, since I would be a victim in the case, If I could get the points. By the way it reads, any person turning in someone that gets charged, can get the bonus points.

So I got my cat sealed and asked a few more questions and all in all tunred out to be a great visit.
Still wish I knew for sure so I could day dream about my 10 or 50 or 100 bonus points :chuckle:
