First hen turkey down
« on: September 27, 2012, 11:21:09 AM »
Got her yesterday morning. Had a chance to hunt on private land and what an opertunity!! Had over 50 birds roosting in different spots within 300 yards of us. We sat on an edge of a field and waited for the birds to fly in. Turns out birds were landing 10 feet behind us and were calling other bids in only inches away from my side. A few minutes later a hen crash landed in a bush about 5 feet in front of us, gets up looks at us and slowly walks off around the corner only to throw out the distress call to all the other birds "we got busted" I was able to get 1 hen and my buddy got 2 hens.

This was one of the amazing hunts I've ever been on!! Can't wait to go back.
