Ethanol free gas in Spokane?
« on: October 01, 2012, 11:35:45 AM »
I have a list of stations from the internet.  One station is Pacific Pride so I can't use it since they are a by-account only servicer.  The other 2 only sell ethanol free gas in 92 octane.  That sounds really expensive and wouldn't offset the gas mileage savings of using it.

Anyone know of an ethanol free station in 87 octane around Spokane?

Bett's listed on the web-site is the one I am sure you are referencing as a Pac Pride, but it is both a Pac Pride and a retail gas station.  I believe they have 87 & 92.  I go there for the small engines from time to time.

the 87 is usually somewhere between 30-45 cents more than normal retail, which is roughly 3.89 around here right now.

I'm not so much concerned about the savings but rather on the effect ethanol has on o-rings, gaskets etc. I run my nice weather vehicles way down in fuel this time of year and fill them with ethanol free fuel, then run them for 100 miles or so to make sure to dilute any ethanol left in the system. I do the same thing with my yard tools, weed eaters, mowers etc, the ethanol really takes its toll on those. :twocents:

I get my ethanol free fuel down in Auburn.

Amen on ethanol free fuel !, lose the Stabil, get Seafoam.
Try a Cenex in your area for the fuel itself

We run it exclusively since it's sold here in Shelton at $0.06/gal over 10% ethanol but, taking the cross state trip in a couple of weeks, we wanted to try and keep the van on it's corn-free diet.  We get 17/mpg in the van on 10% ethanol but we get 23/mpg on ethanol free

I will send her to Betts.  It is listed as Pacific Pride but, I'll have the wife go there.  $0.30/gal over 10% is a bit high though.  Almost wouldn't ofset the mileage savings.

Check with the local Cenex Co-ops Most of the ones around here, that sell fuel, have one pump of 87 octane ethanol-free fuel.

My experience is that currently up to an $0.20/per gallon difference is covered by the increased mileage for use in my trucks. I use the ethanol-free fuel for mowers, weedwhackers, chainsaws, boat motors and other gasoline appliances.

Whatta ya mean I can't have one of each?

There is a "save way" or "save more" or something trucks stop near the freeway at the Freya exit that sells ethanol free 87. Its just west of Freya and a block north of sprague. Going north just pass sprague and go over the train tracks and go left. I ran it for a while helped some but anymore I just fill up at cenex. I only saw 1-2 MPG increase.

That is the same place we were talking about Bett's Save Way also Pac Pride fill up adjacent to it.

That has been my experience as well.  I get about 10% boost in fuel economy, which is 10% of 15 is 1.5 mpg, so I end up getting about 16.5

Not exactly close to Spokane, but I believe the station in Hartline or Almirante has ethanol free. It's right on the hwy, just can't remember which town
