Wanting to make a batch for the first time....
So instead of mason jars or re-purposed liquor bottles, could apple pie moonshine be bottled & corked like wine? Would it keep better/worse/longer???

Why not, all whiskey used to be bottled that way. If it didn't seal right wine makers wouldn't use corks. :twocents:

Made my first batch this year. Leaving the recipe so I can remember it next time  :chuckle:

1 gal apple cider
1 gal apple juice
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
9 cinnamon sticks (was 1 short)
1,000 mL Everclear 190
500 mL Fireball
200 mL Vanilla vodka

Calculated ABV at a little under 12.5%.

Yeah, I was torn. Finally gave in and added, just not as much as I typically do.

No sugar or just a little.  Too sweet for us.  Also after I cook and cool it I take out about 24-32oz for a virgin kids bottle at the holidays.  This definitely strengthens the mixture after everclear is added.  I calc it one time and I think it was upper 20's% so 50-60 proof.  We like it  this way better.  Less sweet and lil potent but still smooth and good.  The quality of apple juices/cider effects the flavor so pick quality and no pulp! :chuckle:
MAGA!  Again..

If you don't like it sweet you guys should try some honey in it. Of course I still add sugar cause I like it sweet :chuckle:

hey polar bear---that sounds delicious...i've got some wild plum made with homemade corn squeezins and that stuff is great...maybe we can broker a sampling/trade ?  i don't care for the taste of everclear myself--much prefer the "home grown" taste
beer---it's whats for dinner

I hear ya man!  I can't stand yhe taste of  Everclear even after filtering it a dozen times. No matter how much stuff you mix it with you can't hide that nasty garbage corn taste.  :chuckle:  Yeah, I would be up for a sampling/ trade. Sounds fun.
