couple good coon races
« on: December 31, 2012, 06:59:31 PM »
Went out last night, two races two trees. What a good time. The first was a hot track in open timber it ran for a good 15 minutes several circles till it treed. Big old bore. The second Hoover cold trailed well over a mile before he opened up. Then was a 20 minute race up into a steep drainage. 300 yds from the road treed knew it was steep figured it wouldn't be to bad of a walk. Well it was a good 25 minutes before we made to the tree. What a $h!t hole! Got to the tree, caught short glimmer of eyes after 10 minutes of looking. Then the dirty little varmit went deep into hiding. Well after going through the effort to get in there I told my brother-in-law law we weren't leaving empty handed. A little persuasion from two 25 round banana clips he came out where we could see him.  :mgun: :mgun:

Gotta do my part. I release residentials in area that use to gets a lot of hound hunting. Use to be full of coons then I guess word got out. Trying to get it repopulated. Its close to home and easy to hunt. Oh and the funny part is I don't even own a trap I just get calls from friends and of friend. I just drop em off.

What a great pic! Yeah I got a little boy that'll be 4 in February and a daughter that'll be 9 in May. My daughter has got to enjoy it some. She loves the dogs a lot more than the hunting. My little boy hasn't got to experience it yet, soon though. He's hooked on horn hunting already sure everything else will come into play also.

Here's a pic of my daughter her first coon. She was 4 I picked her up from kindergarten and she was asking about the carpet on the hood of my pathfinder. So we went for a short drive with ol Rosco on the after so she could see what it is all about.
