Has anyone had there gun rights restored after having a dv conviction. I need help and advice it was an assault four from five years ago my rights were suspended for only 2 years which clearly i have served and need some advice as to getting them restored.Thanks.

They way I understand it your Federal rights are never restored with a DV case. Your state rights can be restored but you will have to petion the court.

Your best bet would be to contact a lawyer that specializes in this area.
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is who you actually are while your reputation is merely who others think you are.

Thanks ice i could not find anything pertaining to domestic violence cases. I did leave messages with a few lawyers and acquired some of the documents i.e., background checks and finger print i.d. cards. I was really hoping somebody on here has had them restored and had a recomendation for an attorney or some diy tips i had spent a gob of time looking this up in the past. Its just seems to be outrageous how expensive it can. All said and done it will have been well worth it as Three of my five children are at a good age to get then handling firearms.
