Remington 700 BDL
« on: February 27, 2007, 03:39:14 PM »
I ordered one of these puppies in .30-06 on Saturday. It should be here by next monday. I really can't wait.

It turns out that I didn't care for the detachable magazine since the capacity is 4 already. I don't really mind that at all. For me - iron sights coming stock on a rifle is a must. I'll be looking to get a scope for it next but I am not in a hurry for that. If you have any suggestions please fire away.

One thought for a fine, compact rifle like that for big game a 2x7x33 Leupold VX-ll or VX-l both on low profile mounts would be sweet. Used VX-ll's run around $200.00, with new VX-l's just over $200.00. The WAC meeting in Puyallup at the end of March would be a good opportunity to look through a bunch of scopes. I'll buy the coffee.

Yo Chep! I have a 3x9x40 you're most welcome to if it'd work you for your 700. Similar to the Leopold VX-1. It just sitting in my safe doing nothing right now. 8)

So, I understand that you've sprung that thing loose from the vender! What's next? We can do a quick bore site out my barn door and then we ought to try it out someday soon. I have paper, clays and spotting scope on hand. ;D

Yes there was a minor delay at the gun store. Maybe somebody is using my social somewhere or something.. :)

I don't have the mounting gear for the scope yet but I'd be happy to launch some lead down range with the iron sights the first chance I can get. I have not picked up any ammo or even a sling yet. Talk about cherry. I will need to make some minor adjustments\modifications to it before long.. :guns:

It's possible I could escape on Sunday but Saturday I have committments.

Thanks. I saw that someone had an A-Bolt in the gallery. Now that looks like a beauty!

Yesterday I made it out to the range and it shot very well. Now let's see if I can hit something real with it this year.  :guns: :rockin:

I love my a-bolt , it's an '06 too. the  gun cabinet held it very well for a few years now...hopefully it will do the same for your new toy...

I love those remington 700.  There is a 50 $ mail in rebate on model 700's until the end of the year if you didn't know that already.
