Rio gobbler photo
« on: May 24, 2013, 07:29:41 AM »
Now that I'm out of tags, I had to shoot this guy with a camera down in SE.  Love the bright bronze colors of the Rio Grande subspecies.  It's going to be a long wait until next season.  Good luck to you guys still hitting it hard until the end of the month!

That's a nice photo, I agree totally on the bronze colors of the Rio's!  Did you call him in, or just run across him?  Thanks for posting.

Just spotted him on some private land.  Shot the photo from the front seat of my truck.  He was strutting with a hen and then bugged out when I stopped the vehicle and he walked away with her.  Didn't get a strutting shot, which was what I was hoping for.  He was missing a middle tail feather in his fan, so it wouldn't have been the best photo anyway.

Beautiful photo!  Beautiful Bronze!
