Well I cant figure out how to put the pictures up, so all of you guys with just have to read the story. So get a beer and some popcorn and settle in.......... :chuckle:

With the way the enconmy has been , my place of biz has been somewhat slow , but during hunting season this can be a good thing. Since we were slow I asked my supervisor if I could take off work early on Wed, and he said fine not a problem. So I jet home grab my gear and call one of my buddies to see if he wanted to head out for an afternoon hunt, but he had other plans ,so I was off. I get down to the spot that I wanted to try out park the truck and hike to the top of a hill, this was about 11:30am.  Get all settled in and start glassing the different eyebrows in the area.......nada not even a doe, so I wait abit read a few pages of my book and start over. As Im glassing the furthest eyebrow something catches my eye, its just a light flicker of movement that shouldnt have moved the way it did due to the wind. I watch for a few minutes and make out the outline of a deers body...but at the didtance I couldnt tell if it was a buck or a doe. So I gather up my gear and head to the bottom of the draw, Im guessing that Im atleast a mile from where I will be able to tell what the deer was. I took my time getting up to my next vantage point being careful that I didnt spook any other bedded deer, so far luck was on my side. About 400yds from where I had just left was a finger or CRP that would help hide my approach and allow me to get to where I wanted to be. Finally made it to my next spot, and started looking for my bedded deer, it was no longer in the eyebrow, but I also didnt see where it had went. I watched for quite awhile and never did see it, but at least I was into deer right? By now its getting warmer and the sun felt good, so I decided to take a short nap. I woke up about 4pm, and decided to hike into the CRP to find some deer, well I found them but they took off running picking a few others up with them , and 1 of them was a buck. I kinda had an idea where they would head to settle down, so I took the long way to cut them off at the pass. I snuck up to the top and looked down into the bowl where I had hoped they would be, and they were there........but again where was the buck? I looked all around and saw 2 pikes and 7 does and fawns, but not the buck I had seen them pick up. I was abit dejected thinking he had given me the slip, when I saw ears up towards the top of the hill, put my binos on it and saw him, and he was looking right at me.......I guessed the range at 250 across the draw, set up my bipod and whistled, he stood up to see what was going on and I dropped him where he stood. Actual range was 215 and my shot was right through the tops of his shoulders. I started walking back to the truck and ended up meeting the landowner told him I had a buck down and he told me to get in and we'll go pick him up, so the luck continued no drag.......

The only bad thing about this whole hunt was I wasnt using my muzzy, but the best way to look at it is there is always next year.
