I went and pulled cams in sage country today, called in 3 coyotes and smacked one... Didn't see a single bear :dunno: :chuckle:

I've been seeing the same three, right at the old Winton Mill right there above Leavenworth over the past two months. Two young black phase and one decent cinnamon, that may go 250'ish.

I saw 7 trucks at one gate/road by my place this morning :yike:. Glad I had a spring bear permit. Too bad I skunked out though :bash: I know there is at least one up there. Hopefully one of those guys got one. Road is only 3 miles with short spurs.

That's a negative. All I have seen so far is that I left my trail cam on setup mode.... Not on... Craaaaaap

Walked a gated road about 3 miles out and back, lots of poo and a few tracks - but no bear.  Started driving up the grade to the next spot and a medium sized bear sprinted out in front of my truck.  Almost ran over him.  He went back the way he came, down into some very steep new reprod.  I carefully slid down into it and found a bunch of torn up stumps and other sign so I'll be back.

In a short evening hunt I saw 24 deer and one hunter. No bear and no fresh sign.

I've seen over 20 in the last month scouting and I would have had a shot at one yesterday with a rifle at 400 yards but I'm hunting with a pistol this year so there was no 400 yard shooting to be done. I decided shooting 5 bears pretty easy over the last 5 years just isn't as much fun as having to get really close to smack one with a .41 mag! Could have killed around a 250 pounder this morning but I've seen quite a few goin over 350 so I'll hold out for them

Saw 100 head of elk (2 rag horn bulls, about 85 cows, and a handful of young'uns) and 1 guy in his truck behind a closed gate.  Still scratching my head at that one.  Just a plain jane truck, no special markings, plates, or tabs.
