Future Changes for Washington State
« on: November 12, 2008, 06:30:53 AM »
After reading through the scoping survey that the state put it, it got me to thinking. None of their objectives seem clearly defined, at least to me, and I dont agree with the micro-management that they force upon us. I just wondering what everyone thinks we will see come down the pipe for the next 3 years. So post up what you think we will see.

Myself, I see major changes in the muzzy regs.

If the lead ban on ammo passes we will be in a world of hurt, if your kids want to learn shooting a .22 you can kiss that goodbye and as far as I know only Barnes and Nosler make full copper bullets. >:(

Six years, the state does it in six year intervals.

I agree.  We will have 209 primers, jacketed bullets, increased season lengths, and more draw tags.

I see changes for whitetail in the 101 - 124 units.   No anterless for certain categories, no doe tags, and 3 point minimum for modern firearm.  These changes may not be permanant.

Good, then I will be switching back to rifle season while everybody else switches over to muzzleloader season. In my opinion that is BS if the WDFW caves in to the pressure from guys who think they should be able to use muzzleloaders during a "primitive" season that are almost the equivalent of a "modern firearm." But that's ok. It will move a lot of the pressure over to muzzleloaders season so I can hunt modern firearm and have the woods all to myself.

I don't think they will allow 209 primers, i bet additional units and a longer season for MZ.

Some sort of antler restriction in the NE for a unit or two and some sort of 2 point or less unit for muleys on a trial basis.

I think how the draws get done will change too.  That is my opinion.

What do you think will change with the draw? Just in the number of choices, like from 4 choices down to 2?
