Probably wasn't his crab pot.  And I'm sure nobody is going to claim it now!  But, really!  Don't they know you are suppose to cut your bouy loose when you send someone down as crab bait?

Growing up on the Oregon coast it was not uncommon for child molesters to skip town without their car, truck, bank account or any belongings.  Always figured they won a free fishing trip.  Maybe I was wrong and they won a free crabbing trip instead.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Those were the good ole days. When local law enforcement was actually local and had the balls to do what was necessary to deal with evil.

I see a ten day waiting period to buy a crab or black cod pot in the future.

Maybe they will film an episode of Dexter in the PNW now :dunno:

Looks far to big to fit through the doors on a Dungy pot, current must have rolled it into the tunnell and had it hang up,on the mesh.

Does that protruding bone on the left side of the skull look odd to anyone else?  Not sure what that would be. :dunno:

I agree.  I'm not sure what it is but I think we're looking at the back of the skull and the protrusion on the left is what's left of the bottom of an eye socket.

I don't think it's the cops as much as overly politicized management and court decisions by d-bag judges and juries.

Maybe it will DNA match up with some of the feet that have been found the last few years.

Sea lion skull. Got his head stuck in there while he was trying to steal bait so he drowns and the crabs have a hay day on his sorry carcass.

I would hope that the Grays Harbor coroner could recognize a human skull without the need to ship it off to King County.

Excellent hypothesis, the best yet, however, the amount of decay/age to it scuttles it,your thinking is right, but my guess as to current sweeping it into the door/tunnel section make's it a team effort of home run,That protrusion off the side might be a tusk emination point on a walrus perhaps.360 degree photos  from different angles would be a big help.

This says a "confirmed" human skull.

Confirmed human skull found in Westport crab pot
by Dave Haviland • February 21, 2014

What has been confirmed as a portion of a human skull has turned up in a crab pot near Westport. Undersheriff Dave Pimentel tells KBKW, a fisherman pulled it up Friday morning about 2 miles off the coast, he told officers that he had set the pot last week.

The King County Cornoer’s Officer confirmed later Friday that the skull was human, however they have not released a positive I.D.

Pimental said earlier Friday a crab fisherman found what appeared to be a human skull about 2.3 miles off of the coast.

The fisherman called the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office, who met him at the docks, and took the sample into evidence.
