We're all winners!  I enjoyed a couple low country crawdad boils this year.  Love catching the dads and love chowing them down too.

I agree...

I have a few camping trips planned this year all revolving around catching dads, can't wait!

Last year's Hogcraw thread motivated me to build a few traps and try it out.  Ironically the square traps I found at a garage sale out fish my Terry Bullard style homemade traps.

A HUGE thanks to, Brad, H20, Elkpiss & anyone else I missed.

Impressive catches!

I am a crawdad newbie and not sure where to post a few questions but this seems the most active.

1.  What time of year is best to catch crawdads with a trap in NW WA?
2.  Any tips on crawfish trapping a large river without a boat, just waders?  Ditto for lakes?

A year ago I tried a wimpy little trap in a mud bottom river eddy beside a rock rubble causeway where I have seen large crawdads.  In two nights caught only one pike minnow.  Since then I have bought a better trap, read Terry Bullard's stuff and all of the posts here. Ready to try again.

1st time I read this thread and it was really cool  :chuckle: Love the pot designs. I can see that this is something that I will get into when I move back to Eastern WA.

Do many of the Lakes in the Colville area have them?
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Received Brad's trap today, it looks fishy, wait I mean crawdaddy…

With this warm weather it will be a good early season, can't wait to try it out in a couple months.  I’m sure this trap is going to catch some serious crawdads.

Thanks again Brad!

Great job H20 on those Awards, they turned out awesome..  the last couple years we have been posting this Crawdad tourny and its really catching wind..   its all in good fun, and its cool to see some people trying it out giving it a shot... My son is 3 almost 4 and he thinks crawdads are coolest thing ever.. pulling the string with him is what its all about..   Should be a good mudbug season this year with the warmer temps.. and for the guy who asked the best time to soak the pots, its best when the water is the warmest so August is when you should get the good numbers....  Again thanks to H20 for really getting this thing rolling...
Their going down!!!
