Watch your credit cards!

A resident buddy just got his card hit for a deer tag - he only put in for the Strip, so it's either an archery or rifle Strip tag.

Sweet!

I'm in for points only. We has one of the first elk draws, but then one of the last deer draw

Indeed, panic set in on my buddy today when he realized that the archery tag he likely drew starts in six weeks, and the Strip is not one of those units where you just show up and arrow a nice buck.

Yes, and the archery season starts August 22!  Hope he didn't have other vacation plans!  "Hun, here's a map to Yellowstone, don't worry, you and the kids will do just fine without me."   :chuckle:

I know how that goes  :chuckle:

I haven't been following whether the drought has been as bad up north of the Canyon as it has for the rest of AZ this year but I hope for his sake that it's not. Should have a shot at a 200+ buck either way if he's patient.

Results are up as of yesterday. No luck for me again so I hope someone else here was lucky enough to get a golden ticket.

Hundreds and hundreds of coues deer tags leftover. Fun hunt if you've never done one. Mail your stuff in TODAY if you want to get one.

Leftover list for those who PM'ed me. Tip: print it out and save it for next year. Its good to get a trend of which units typically have leftovers.  :twocents: C

Must of those deer tags are from units that border Mexico.  I'm sure with all the illegals crossing it keeps a lot of people from apply down there.

Yep. Some of the best coues deer units, too. Unfortunately.

I did a border javelina hunt about 8 years ago.  Won't go back.  Probably saw 100 illegals on our side of the fence over four days.  Woke up to one illegal rifling through our cooler for coca cola.  He had already pounded one and was on number two when I walked out of the tent with my rifle.
