Prayers to the friends and family and for you as well Iceman in your fight. I'll be lighting luminaria in remembrance of Todd and in honor of you as a survivor in the Shelton Relay for Life in June. Too many friends and family have come to know cancer all too well. Hopefully our efforts will help in finding a cure for this insidious disease!

Sorry to hear he lost his fight with this horrible disease.  Prayers to family and friends.

Like others here, I have first hand experience.  I'm currently typing from Evergreen Hospital where my wife was admitted on Satuday for Ovarian Cancer complications.  This is our third round of chemo and she's Stage IV.  We're still fighting.  But, reality is that she's probably only going to be with us for 4 to 6 months more.  Didn't mean to thread jack.  Unfortunately, cancer seems to be a part of too many good people's lives.

Unfortunately, I just heard of Todd's passing. I hate cancer. I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, but we spoke numerous times on the phone as well as through this site.  He sent me that picture of his last bull.....he seemed like a GREAT guy! I will be thinking of him when I am back up to the Margaret this fall helping my friend get his archery bull.....I know he loved that place!

Good grief ET, so sorry to hear. Prayers from my home to yours.

Thanks Kevin.  I'm really tired of losing so many good people to cancer.

FYI, surgery was required to try an clear intestinal blockage.  However, block was not structural due to previous surgery (i.e., scar tissue or adhesions).  Ovarian/Peritoneal Cancer has damaged a very significant portion of intestinal tract and all abdominal organs, including liver are involved too.  Surgeon performed palliative surgery to try and bypass damaged intestinal tract sections.  But, it's only palliative because nothing they could do to decrease cancer burden.  Bypass was done on June 4th, and we are still in hosp.  Trying everything they can to get my wife home for a while.  Dr's say baby steps to try and get gut working again because they don't want to take one step forward and two steps back.  But, Surgeon and Oncologist say time is short.  Tough decisions ahead.  Any further chemo will also be considered palliative, rather than potentially curative.  So, need to decide to continue the fight and deal w/ chemo and cancer side affects or just try to manage cancer symptoms (significant cancer pain, bloating, nausea, etc.).  In other words, quality of life remaining decisions.  Due to surgery, we are in Catch 22 situation right now too.  If we decide to continue to fight, we can't restart chemo again until she's fully recovered from surgery.  Therefore, cancer can progress unimpeded until then.  So, none of the options are very good right now.  Our #1 goal is she wants to get home, which we are trying to accomplish.  Thanks again for the prayers!

ET, if I can buy you a dinner at the hospital cafeteria where your wife is at, let me know. I would really like to sit and talk and listen with you during this rough time if needed.  PM me if you think you could get away for a bit to talk.

Take care friend, Kevin.
