Anyone have any info on this pistol.
« on: June 22, 2014, 07:55:19 PM »
My buddy got this pistol from his brother, before his death, and has no info on it at all.
It appears to be a very small caliber muzzleloading revolver but there are no markings anywhere on the pistol except for the words black powder only, and Spain. It has very fancy engraving covering the entire gun. it also is a #11 cap.
Does anyone have any idea what this is?

pepperbox.  Like the ones the confederates had.  Probably a functional replica.  But would need to talk to experts to find out for real.

Bunnell by no means am I an expert but I have a cheap version I traded for a long time ago that is more then likely a CVA kit. With the fancy engraving on yours I would think maybe Allen & Thurber ( Ethan Allen gunsmith) . A second one is WW Marston these might be a good start to looking yours up. Hope it helps.

The pistol is called a "pepperbox".  It was an early attempt at creating a multi-shot gun.  They fell out of favor when Colt came out with the Revolver.  They were especially prone to "chain firing". (More than one barrel going off when one is fired).
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
