I have been egg fishing the Skok for a lot of years. And i only need to hook 2. And i do. Everyday i fish it.

Those fish destroy good eggs. My biggest on the Skok is 37, but i guess that is a jack to the guys that need to hook 30-40 to get 2.

And if you think those fish don't hammer eggs it is to justify your snagging. Flossing is snagging.

I hope that wasn't towards me? I said eggs do great in the upper stretch above tide water.

The skok fish are done feeding by the time they get in the river.  You yuppie fishermen who say you float eggs while the snaggers ruin it are funny.  I see you guys floating eggs and you hook up every hour or so.  Never the big fish just the small jacks.  Cause that the only fish that might want a bite to eat after they get inland.  There is no other way to fish a river like that.  The fish don't eat.  so if I don't want to be labeled a snagger I need to cast out drift the pocket and reel my line in after I feel no bumps?  If I did feel a bump set the hook?  The only bump I might get in the skok is my line going through a dozen fish?  So if I set it then I would most likely foul hook the fish or Snag the fish?

My point is there is no feeding that goes on in the river and the only way to catch fish consistently is to floss them in the mouth and keep the fair hooked hatchery fish right?  I could go waste my time waiting for a takedown but it would take all day.  I have had one fish bite my corkie and yarn in the skok.  It was a big buck and he probably wasn't eating more defending his pocket that I kept throwing into.  That's after ten years of fishing the skok.  One bite.  So good luck to you egg floating guys.  Knock them little ones dead!

I'll bet you all your fishing gear (except you're a skok flossers so your gear probably sucks) that I'll out fish you 20 to 1 with my float and eggs. Come take a stroll into my world and my group of egg fisherman will shut your mouth quick.

I'll supply you with eggs and I bet you catch more fish on eggs in one day than you would all weekend flossing....If you really fished the skok as long as you say. You would know where to fish to slay on eggs...I see barely any snagger where I fish. Every single person is fishing eggs. And we all limit every day.

I fish the lower river. I don't fish for boots in the upper river. I also toss spinners right where the fresh meets the salt. Ever had a fish rip a rod out of your hands? I have. They hit certain spinners with a deathwish.

Yep on the hump with plugs with the rod in hand instead of rod holder. How upriver do you think I'm talking? Boots in upper guard rail? A few but still a lot of chrome. I spend 90% of my time out on the flats

Bank walker i gaurntee  you don't catch as many fish as you think u do? Do you know how much 20-1 is. That means you hook 20fish to his 1 fish :chuckle:. Now if your brine is that good I will pay 10k for your recipe. I'm a bait fisherman on every river besides the skok. This may be one of the most overly exaggerated claims I have seen. I would love to see you fish high banks with your eggs  :chuckle:. I hope your post was a joke.

Wow.... I don't even know where to start.... the idea that someone is interested in the opener to fish this terrible place....... or that people say big Nooks don't bite eggs.   You must be the guys at Hunter's Farms dragging them up the banks with a hook in the belly and a 12ft dip net yelling at the guys floating eggs across the river....I am just glad that I don't have to visit this river to catch mine.
I've spent most of my life hunting and fishing....the rest has been wasted

I have had some unreal fishing experiences on this river and I have seen some of the biggest atrocities that I have ever seen here as well.

I love fishing the skok because of the way they eat eggs. But I hate fishing the skok because of the way 99% of the people snag it.

The klickitat kings eat eggs the same way. But 150 miles from the ocean. And people still think they need to snag there.
I was raised on the Washougal, everybody told me the Chinook didn't eat once in fresh water so I learned how to snag fish.
Then I grew up and learned how to egg fish and all of a sudden I didn't need to hook 20 fish to keep 1 hooked in the head, of course there were days I would hook 2 in the head right off the bat. But fishing eggs I get to choose if I keep it or not and I don't have to look over my shoulder for the game warden.

I have been on the Skok where me and my biddies have putfished the snaggers five to one. Must have been a had day for them. Or they were not as expierenced at snagging as offdarock.

:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:   TOOL!  I could fair hook two fish within the time it takes you to tie up one time.  I could probably fair hook two fish before any of you old guys could even tie up.  The skok is not your world unless your a meth addicted tweaker.   :dunno:  I would bet you all my snagging gear but I don't fish the river anymore.  you couldn't keep up on a 1-1 basis let alone a 20-1.  What a joke.  I have filled multiple catch cards at this river all with fair hooked fish.  So why does it matter how I get a hook in their mouth?  OH I can do it quicker than the egg guys and catch big fish so now your mad.

I challenge anyone to get a video of a BIG king taking eggs and getting banked.  I have a $20 bill to the first video link I get of a big king on eggs on the skok, from 2014.  So get your cams eggs and tampons down there.  it opens in the morning.  Lets set the bar at 25 lbs.  First 25 lbs + fish gets a $20 bill.  You would need to drive to me to collect.  This offer is valid to ANYONE.  I jnust need a video of it.  from the cast to the take down to the fight and the fish on the bank on a scale.  pretty easy right.  20-1 this would only take you a min.  Do you even have a pic of the 37 lber?  I know I would have a pic of a damn near 40 lb king..........................................................  but that's just me I guess.  LET THE GAMES BEGIN.  tomorrow.

I don't fish over there with you guys but I will say my morals would dictate that I would rather catch fewer fish than to catch more in an unsportsmanlike way. Keep it up boys and I guarantee you will be single handedly responsible for getting a fishery closed.
