Bear hunting in the (snoqualmie) hancock.
« on: July 29, 2014, 12:50:43 PM »
So due to my busy work schedule and a new baby i have yet to even set foot in the Hancock. Plan on heading up there opening weekend to try and get a bear and just wondering if anybody's been up in there and what they have seen. Not looking for anything specific just kind of a general idea. Thanks in advance and anything is appreciated.

I am up there quite regularly, unfortunately I have never seen a bear or sign in that area. I typically hunt there as well as well as cutting wood.

Wish I had some good info for ya.

I've been in there 6 or 7 times this year just trying to learn the lay of the land. I've seen some bear pooh on a few of the older/grown over roads, but no sightings of any bears ... Good luck out there! I'll be doing some deer hunting out there for the gen rifle season..

Lots of bears
:yeah: they're everywhere in there. From spur 10 on over to cedar ponds. Do you have a vehicle permit or walk in?

When bear huntin this weekend I realized I don't know the Hancock AT ALL! I don't know where the j line is, 24 mile road, red bridge, or 16 mile road. I'm so lost! Lol

I've hunted there. Saw an elk and deer. No sign of bear. I was south of 410. Biked 5 miles in and up mountains. Not much berries or open areas that I could see or glass. I might go back someday but not my first choice for bear

Wrong Hancock.  They are talking Snoqualmie.  If your on 410 that is the white river Forest Hancock.

Been there at least two dozen times since March. Mostly full days scouting, fishing, hunting. Saw 1 running away at full speed when I rounded a bend on a logging road. Not buying the "tons if bears" stories. See scat now and then but for the amount of roads I've covered and times I've been there, I would think I would've seen more Bears. I've seen more dead Mylar balloons than Bears lol
