Figures!
« on: August 18, 2014, 10:03:50 PM »
Never been much of a bear hunter, but I get a tag every year. I figure if I see a decent one on the way to something else, I might take it. Never happened. Decided not to get a tag this year....

So today, I'm out just tending some cameras and I see something up ahead in the road on my way back to the Jeep.

Got off a few pics and decided to walk the rest of the way with camera in one hand and .45 in the other.

That's how It always worked for me too. Now I buy a tag every year and hunt them hard and can get one within 300 yards  :chuckle:

I don't think he ever turned his head to look at me. I was busy fumbling with my camera so I might have missed it if he did. Even if he did, he didn't seem to be in a hurry to get away, he just sort of shuffled down the road. I slowed my pace to be quiet and tried to close the distance but he seemed to sense where I was and maintained the distance. For whatever reason he just decided to leave the road and went up into thick brush along side the road. There was a slight breeze right in my face so I assumed that helped, he may not have even known I was there.
