Oh the morality of it all..  Most of the guys pissin and moaning about a lil flossing don't walk on water.     Most prolly watch porn, use illegal drugs, cheat on their wives but are gonna crucify a guy snaggin some salmon for the freezer or a canning jar.   LMAO

I used to snag with a corky and warn in the Green and North Fork Toutle, kalama rivers.   6 fish coho limits for everyone and the thousands that make it past everyone and can't be used in an allready full hatchery go to dog food.  lol   I always wished the leftovers would be canned and sent to poor or struggling families..  Suppose dogs gotta eat too.

But really?  All you guys have that high of a moral standard that you look down upon a guy flossin dogfood?  Give me a break.  laffin

By the way,  will  all you all stop being filthy pigs and clean your gear and trash up off the river banks and when all you "Morally Righteous" are done shooting and with target practice in the hills.  Pick your trash up, I'm tired of cleaning  up all your *censored*.

(please avoid using profanity)

You nailed it.  I have never understood why people get worked up about flossing hatchery fish.  It makes no sense to me.

So, you'd rather see the fish pile up in the hatchery and get sent to the rendering plant?

I'm not as sure as you are that it's poaching. Gear is all legal. A fish could bite it. By the letter of the law it is legal to retain the fish hooked in the head. Many would have difficulty telling from the hook position if the fish was lined or not- sometimes it may be impossible. Could you say you were trying to get one to bite and just happened to line one in the process? Since the rest is obviously legal, it's the intent that is the obvious gray area here (and that may be impossible to prove).

I challenge anyone to go to the Puyallup tomorrow (it will have basically zero visibility) and hook fish that you can say beyond a shadow of a doubt were not flossed. Any takers?

Might as well just kick a few thousand fishers off the rivers! Start there take it to the Carbon, run it on down to the Nisqually clean those flossers out. Dang poachers! Don't stop there!
Keep posting ODH  :hello: <'(((((<   >)))))'>

Since moving here I went onto numerous fishing sites in the beginning, there was always one or two that discussed flossing and how they would never ever condone it, it's illegalness, and bashed anyone they "believed NOT proved" were doing it......  Then several posts later they show all these great photos of their summer trips north for Russian River Reds - ummmm - FLOSSING!  But when they were in Washington and Oregon fishing it was outrageous and most non-ethical way to fish- but that seemed to change when they started catching Sockeye on the rivers in AK....  I do not walk these rivers here, but there is huge difference in Flossing than Snagging....  Snagging is ripping a hook, normally a treble or a closely weighted hook, pretty easy to see the difference then a slight lift or pick up at the end of the swing.  Now, if they are at the end of a swing setting the hook each and every time- Snagging..

They're hatchery fish.  If they are not caught in the river then they are turned into dog food.  Seems better to enjoy flossing them than letting them get turned into dog food.  And flossing is LEGAL so it's not poaching.

We have so many fishermen these days that they should just close it down like elk hunting and make you take a (Master Fishermen Class) and apply for a permit to fish !  :dunno: :brew:

Jeez did I miss something?  All I saw was pics of some nice fish and some suspect English skills.  To be honest I have reread a lot of post on huntwa to figure out what the heck someone is trying to say because of terrible English.  Not sure how those pics and his post make him flosser, poacher, litter bug who's getting rivers and somehow shooting spots shutdown.  There has to be something better to get pissed off about

Just this:
The Puyallup fish can't see, except the few thousands caught in the mouth.
Everyone on the puyallup is a flossed,
No they are not
Yes they are
Flossing is not illegal
Yes it is, flossing is snagging
no it not
Snagging is using a lure loaded with trebles and ripped over the fish
Flossing is poaching
No it
They are hatchery fish going to the dog food maker
Good kill all hatchery fish
Now we have master fisher people that have to accompany all fisher uh dudes
But no one knows if those fish were flossed
On the puyallup, had to be
No they don't

I think that about sums it up

So no you did not miss a thing
