You can use any legal weapon, gun, muzzy, pistol, or bow for bear. Good Luck!  :hello:

I know the regs say any legal weapon, but would a crossbow be considered a legal weapon or is it limited to handicap hunters?

I actually asked the very same question to my local wfdw and they said any mode is ok. Even if you have a bow deer tag you can still hunt for bear with rifle during the bow season. They did however say you cannot bring a rifle and a bow with you at the same time. They said if I want to switch weapons I have to switch out in the truck.

Was that directed towards me or the original poster?

That must be if you have an archery deer or elk tag during archery deer and elk season.  Otherwise I can not see where having two weapons could possibly be a violation :dunno:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."
