You saw that daddysprad.   :chuckle: :chuckle:

No there is quite a bit of public land and you can get on private, but the competition is tremendous, the property is few and far between.  The public land is far from me and there is no Sunday Hunting on public land.  The first year here I joined a hunting club, but they ran deer with dogs.  I thought I would try it, but it's not my cup of tea and the club was some serious mullet wearing hicks.  I even saw two fights break out during a couple of lunchtime meetings in between running the dogs.  I did not fit in with that group.  They did kill 6 or 7 deer around 60-80 pounds each and they were each shot maybe 3 to 4 times each with buckshot.  Hated it.  Last year I just hunted on Quantico Marine Corp Base and due to a complete mast crop failure, the deer were mostly in agriculture fields and not in the woods on base.  Didn't even see a deer in the 12 Saturdays I got to hunt last fall.  Worst season in my life.  So far this year, after a lot of scouting, I am really excited about this fall, see a lot of deer and deer sign and I can finally hunt both days of the weekend.  :)

Right on! It sounds like it's been a little frustrating figuring out the hunting over there, but it sounds/ looks like you might have more luck this year. When is opening day, and how many deer can you take?   Good luck!

Good for you! Looks like your hard work is paying off. Hope you nail him, and get a couple more for the freezer.
