First deer for the boy.
« on: October 19, 2014, 02:05:54 PM »
I have to start out by thanking benhuntin for being so generous to our group of hunters.  Without him this wouldn't have been possible.  Thanks again.

Well the first night we arrived at the cabin my old man was able to harvest his doe 30 mins after unpacking the rig.  He made a 50 yard shot and deer one on the trip was done.  Two nights later we met up with Ben and he took us out and we were able to smack another doe at about 100 yards which was tag number two notched.

My son was sick that night and was not doing so well the next morning but we hunted hard but wasnt able to connect on any deer.  Ben was a skin how things were going and he decided to let my boy sit in his blind.  We got in and all situated and just like Ben said the deer showed up like clock work.  After just a few minutes my son was following his first bloodtrail.  Thanks alot Ben your hospitality will never be forgotten.   Hope I can pay you back some how.

Congratulations and nice blind!  I'm glad we turned down Ben's offer as my son decided he was not ready to pull the trigger this year after all.
