I believe that is correct Gasman.  Its in the states hands, at least in Eastern Washington.   Might be different on the Westside.

Wolves are still federally protected in 2/3 of wa st. The state has jurisdiction over the far eastern 1/3 of the state (n.e.)

I watched three wolves in the blues chase my Bull and his cows from last year for five full minutes. when I talked to the Game warden about it he told that they where just passing through. He said if there was a pack living in the era he would be hearing more reports, so obviously they where just moving through.
Nice guy but I don't like his kind of logic, unfortunately its going to get worse before it gets better.

Fortunately, the biologist knows what's up and it's not the game warden who makes those sorts of management decisions.

but there needs to be a population built up in the east slopes central cascades before having a oil lottery system established.

I'd prefer he killed all three of them and we never have enough to establish a oil lottery system. :twocents:

I was incorrect. The state does have jurisdiction over the eastern 1/3 of the state. However they are between a bit of a rock and a hard place. If they don't continue to manage for recovery the feds will step in and take it back over. Not easy to appease the hunters, ranchers, and feds at the same time  (not to mention the unknowing in King county....) I do believe them however when they say the more confirmed documentation the sooner they can take some action.

So did any one see or hear wolves during rifle elk this year? Buddy heard one just before season and we saw two sets of tracks after it snowed one morning.

The purpose of wolves in today's society as said by many environmental groups are 1st destroy private property rights. 2nd sports hunting as it is today. Finally they will use can't hunt so need for guns.  when wolves roamed the USA freely human population of less than 30 million now we have 340 million ther is not room for both

It would be sweet if one of you guys knew how to capture them and train them to eat the liberals in Washington state :twocents:. That is a good use for them, but I have a feeling liberals don't taste good.

While I was back in Rimrock during elk season I was sitting in camp butchering my elk when the WDFW called (Scott Becker) and wanted to discuss my wolf sighting.  I talked to him for about 15 or 20 minutes and he convinced me to send the crappy picture in to him.  So when I returned home from camp this last Monday I sent him the picture and got a reply email on Tuesday confirming that it was a wolf I took a picture of.  I will post the picture on here as long as you all promise to not make fun  :chuckle: of the perfectly focused twig and blurry wolf!!  And Naches has to promise to never comment on any wolf thread again...
