I have spike, and a 3 point chasing does around in my back yard. Also a guy I know, and his wife both shot nice BT's. they were both swollen up, and were with does. I saw a lot of rubs this last weekend. Pre- rut is on in my area. :twocents:b

Cam check today shows the spikes are run off from the larger bucks. The larger bucks are separately looking for does.
Also saw a good 3x3 bt cruising a field a half hour before dark. He has not been seen all summer, until now. It is about to get good.

Starting to heat up in whatcom county seen a a few deer moving around this last week. Wife seen a big drop tine buck on the city limits chasing a doe late this morning. Second time she has seen him. My back yard deer have been harassing one of the does, every where she went the little 3's followed and I got pics of a decent 3 that is looking a little puffy. IMO we are right on time for pre-rut, little guys getting them worked up for the big boys to take. By the end of the month it should be hot and heavy into the first week of Nov. Just hope I can be in the right spot at the right time to take me a toad.

Finally starting to see some bucks around here. Lots of fawns with does still, but the bucks are starting to roam I think.

It's starting here in SW WA. My Husband's deer he got yesterday was still scrawny necked but starting to smell and hanging around a doe, same spot he ran across a few other bucks that were really stinky and hanging around does. I've talked to others that have seen them chasing does too. This weekend should prove to be great hunting and produce some good bucks.

Just got off the phone with a biologist in Montana asking him about something, he said he had a big 5x5 whitetail run a doe by him while he was out in the field today and then mount her.   I was not expecting that!   Crazy

I am really surprised I have not seen more Big Blacktail posted .. This could... go down as one of the best seasons I have seen in a long time ..The weather has been deer hunting weather since the opener and now it has rained for 4 days straight I would think there would be a lot more bucks hitting the dirt .... I am patiently waiting for late archery  :archery_smiley:
