Thanks it was cool. They were separated by this old fence... They were both all posed up, wheezing and grunting. They paced each other slowly walking side by side along the fence until there was no longer any fence :chuckle:
Went at it for about five minutes. It was a pretty even match but the 4x4 is about the size of a horse and eventually sent the other buck running.

I want to become your best friend!  Friends get hunting privileges, don't they? :chuckle:

Absolutely spectacular.  That 4X is a tank!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Cool pics. Back around Seaside to Astoria I'd see a bunch of small bucks sparring this time of year, but they were town bucks who'd hang out most of the year.

This happened pretty quick. I didn't realize til after I had switched my setting to aperture mode instead of shutter priority... Ugh, my 18-200 vr couldn't hang with all the movement. Maybe if I had the "active" switch flicked on the lens they would have been clearer or maybe the lens just isn't fast enough for action shots. Oh well! I noticed too the pics on my computer that are in RAW are much clearer than the decompressed ones I am sharing.

That little bit a blur gives a great feeling of action.
Love the look in their eyes, giving each other "stink eye", LOL

Awesome pics!

Trust me if I could hunt either of these two bucks my dad and I would be flipping a coin and I wouldn't have filled my tag on a 2x3 yesterday lol. I've lived in my area my entire life and these massive suckers are ghosts all but about 3 weeks each year. I know where two others hang that dwarf these two. I'll put a pic of one from last year, hoping to find them and get some shots.
