80 year old grampa
« on: November 20, 2014, 11:52:17 PM »
Taking my 80 year old grandpa  and my dad pheasant hunting tomorrow. I have a picture of me at 3 years old holding one of his roosters. This is where it all began for me.

We unexpectedly lost my grandma this year. So I Had to make sure I got one last hunt w gramps before it was too late.

Stayed up till almost 1am Idaho time listening to his stories of the good old days :)  That alone was worth the drive. It will be an honor to have him hunt behind my dog that I trained on my own.

Will report back tomorrow with pictures. Hoping to get some video of him on action too.

The Lord smiled on us yesterday. We had a beautiful break in the weather. Sunny and 45* no wind. T shirt weather actually. Hunted at a preserve to give my grandpa easy walking and known success. We got 16 of the 20 birds they put out. Dog hunted wonderfully. Took him to his favorite cafe for dinner to cap off a perfect day. Old fashion milk shakes!

If you ask my grandpa how he is doing he used to always say "finer than frogs hair". Hadn't used that phrase since my grandma passed. Yesterday he busted it out for the first time in six months. Proof right there it was a really good day:)

Had access to some private property for today but he didn't quit have enough left in the tank. Glad we made yesterday count!

That is fantastic.   My gramps is in his mid 80s and I can only get him on the water these days but that seems to make him happy. :)  Keep doing what your doing.
