Next season date predictions?
« on: November 23, 2014, 01:54:34 PM »
Hey all,

For you west side muzzle elk hunters, what do you think the 2015 season dates will be? I start putting in for vaca now and wish we had dates set in stone.

I'm thinking early:
October 3rd-9th

Late:
November 25th-Dec 15th* (depending on the unit)

Lemme know what ya think!

I'm thinking you are correct.  At least that's what I think they will be.

I don't know about late season.  But in the last 15 years or so. Early season has always started the first Saturday in October.

That looks right to me, unless something major happens and they change things. They have some proposals up for changes to the early archery season, and I suppose that could affect the early muzzleloader. But I doubt it. October 3rd to October 9th is a good guess.

And late muzzleloader elk always opens the day before Thanksgiving, so the 25th should be correct as well.

Thanks guys,

That's what I was mainly concerned about was if there was going to be any changes to the archery season that would affect the muzzle season.

Guess we won't know for sure until the regs are out...

Late archery deer and elk (west side) opens the 26th this year

Late muzzy elk (western) opens the 26th, and deer opens the 27th?

I sent the game dept an email asking if this was correct or a mistake.....they said yes.  Just yes, not which one was yes

Looking back, last year was the same

It's always been that way, or at least for a long time. I think I even sent an email one time asking the WDFW why muzzleloader deer opens one day later than the others. It makes absolutely no sense.
