Sorry but I can say my son in 1991 at the age of 11 was successful in harvesting a 180 3/8" 41" ram and this only got him started. He has since been successful in harvesting a BC Moose and 2 BC Mountan Goats in Washington state. His sheep was live size mounted by Buzzi Cook of Olympic Taxidermy and displayed on stage at the founding year of FNAWS banquet in Feb. 1992 now Washington Wild Sheep Foundation. Guess what, he probably isn't done either but at least a little older.

wa.hunter the article said largest this year " KENNEWICK, WA - A teenager from Kennewick could soon hold the state record in his age group for hunting and killing the largest bighorn sheep in Washington this year." . Yes bigger have been killed by youth and others but lets not take away this young mans 15 minutes of fame! Nice job Cody   Most of us can only dream of getting this tag!
Shut up and Hunt!

Definately a manson ram, but I highly, highly doubt that is the largest ram killed in the state this year.  Maybe for a youth but not overall.  Regardless he should be congratulated on a great hunt for a critter most guys will only dream of killing.

Yes, other youth have killed larger rams in WA in the past. (many have not been entered in NW Big Game Records, or if they have they were not entered in the YOUTH category). We should congratulate this young man on a fine ram and encourage his future hunting endeavors.

WA.Hunter, congrats to your son on his ram as well. I would encourage him to display it at the WA Chapter Wild Sheep banquet this year. It is awesome to say the least to see all of the rams on display at once!

This was killed in the Manson Unit...there is a blog with the entire story at Northwest Sportsman Magazine website (nwsportsman.com) I can't copy/paste the link as I'm on my tablet right now. Sad part is that the kid caught hell from the anti's after the news story ran...it didn't help KNDU ran the kid telling about the kill shot...sucks but its a different world we live in.

 and grats to the young man
read that in the paper too
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter
