Selling question?
« on: December 18, 2014, 10:42:33 AM »
I hear on these forms of guys shipping thier furs into Nafa what do they mean? How do they ship their furs. Do they send them with somebody or do they put them in the mail? Also how do you collect your money through this? I live in Kittitas county and saw that Nafa comes through Ellensburg. I wonder if it would be best to go down to the truck in Ellensburg or send them? Sorry really novice to trapping I'm in high school and have lots of questions. Thanks

I send to Fur Harvesters Auctions. George brady ((509) 923-2326) swings buy grabs my furs, they sell at the auction then you get a check in the mail. I met him at the south interchange in ellensburg so I didn't have to pay shipping.

I am the Nafa agent for Washington I will be the one one ellensburg. Meeting there will most likely be the easiest. What happens is I pick up the fur and give you a receipt about three weeks after the sale you will get a Check in the mail. If you have any more questions give me a call 608-354-7387.

All the guys here in Virginia that had their furs picked up by NAFA in April still have not received any checks.  Most of their fur is currently being held over.  Might be a good time to just get your hides tanned....or not, but I'm hearing prices are tanking as fast as the Russian Ruble.  Hopefully the furs from WA will be sold and bring you some good money.  The NAFA guys are great and honest to work with, it's just a market thing.

I was just about to post on this. I literally watched my furbuyer change his prices from 8 bucks for good tats down to 3 in the same day. Fur is tanking. When oil goes back up, so will fur being as Russia is one of the top fur buying nations who just so happens to be one of the top oil exporters.

on that route i pick up all along I-90 so it is hard to tell how many people will be there. as far as hold over stuff all of the rats and cats from last year are gone there is still some beaver, otter and coon still there. with everything that is goining on in the world it is hard to tell what will happen this year.

It's also a great place to meet a lot of fellow trappers and put faces with names.  Even when I don't send fur with them I like to go hang out and meet some folks and look at their furs.  It's usually a good time!
