I will be there.

There are lots of organizations that support hunting, conservation, and wildlife. The field seems to get more crowded each year with fundraising auctions and benefits.

I support several of the organizations and try to attend at least one or two different events each year.

The majority are worthy of our support, and I wouldn’t even think of trying to pit one against another as being “better” in any way.

I like this particular Safari Club event for a few reasons. First, Safari Club’s support is not restricted to a single specie but embraces all legal hunting. Second, I believe the funds raised by local chapters such as this go to causes that I understand and support. Lastly, and perhaps selfishly this event has always been enjoyable and always has quite a few items in both the silent and live auctions that appeal to me.

As an added bonus, I usually end up meeting a couple Hunt WA members for the first time.

If you have an interest in attending, I encourage you to get a ticket while they’re still available.

A partial list of where this chapter’s funds have gone in recent years is listed below.

Yep I will be going to.  But first we from SCI will be helping WDFW do sheep capture on Friday to see what is happening to one of our herds. Got to get it done so I can actually get back for the Banquet Fundraiser that the Northwest Chapter is having on Saturday the 13th. Next we will be doing another capture and moving sheep from one area to another.  These project have proven to be a pleasure to work with WDFW on and find out they actually have some employee's that do care about our wildlife.
You need to come to the Fundraisers and get involved with SCI if you would like to be a part of these volunteer opportunities.

Only one week left.  Tickets are nearly sold out and the official number needs to get to the caterer early in the week so don't delay.  If you never have gone you will not be disappointed. Every person I have ever invited has made it a necessary annual attendance due to the amount of enjoyment they get out of the evening. It is also a good time to meet  and speak with members of your local SCI chapter, sign up, and become involved. As hunters we need to band together politically, through fundraising, and with boots on the ground.  Especially in a state where we have not done as good a job as the other side in educating the populous and putting our face on the front lines politically in Olympia. SCI in Washington is a very dedicated group that works within Washington to further our hunting heritage. We raise funds, assist with conservation projects, and work within the political structure in Olympia. Hope to see you there!

I'm in.

Agreed.  Seems the economy/market are keeping auction prices down somewhat generally, but there was someone still bidding this up at $25K last year.   :dunno:
