Any 7 Dakota shooters here?
« on: February 24, 2015, 07:29:00 PM »
Anybody shooting a 7 Dakota on here. Having Benchmark build me another rifle and that's the caliber this time. Would like to see some rigs and discuss some data if so.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

Not sure if I would go that route, no brass yet or much load data. Its a interesting case but it does the  same thing every other big 7mm will do. There are no free lunches either, that much case and powder means high temps and erosion. You could load it down, but then why not get a 7mm rem mag. My Dakota eats 77.6 grains of retumbo and pushes the 190 matrix at 3066. Personally I seen no reason to shoot any pill smaller than the 180, it's just no fun  :IBCOOL:

Yes I had a 7 Dakota built a couple years ago. Absolutely love that gun. Since then my dad and a buddy have had one built. Shooting the 168's.
I hope when I die my wife doesn't sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.
