Hart and Ohop lake ? Gas or Electric motors
« on: April 25, 2015, 12:35:06 PM »
Can I use gas motor it these lakes? I can't find any info in the county parks web page. I have read they have catfish and crappie. I never caught a cannel cat nor a crappie before. I might have to make a Sunday fishing trip. Is it a good trout lake to? Thanks

Ohop is good for cats. They're not channel cats though. Just brown bullhead catfish. They get a few pounds tops that I've seen. Fishings good about an hour after dark. Motors are all good to. Anything goes really. Tons of krappie

Might try here:

I know they used to plant channel cats in Harts. Haven't heard much about them lately. Not sure the state has continued planting them there.

Motors are good to go on Ohop. Just don't try to fish there between 11-3 when the weather gets nice, those are the hours skiers and jet skis get to play. Outside those hours it's pretty much no wake.

Plus Ohop gets up near 70 degrees, almost like catching already stewed fish, when you catch any.

Doesn't fishing for cats normally get better after the water warms up?

Not really a catfish guy, just what I've always heard.
