Now it's time to show the youngsters how it's really done! :chuckle: :archery_smiley:

I can't help but smile thinking that after all the troubles in getting things started a father got to watch his son shoot a bear with grandpa's gun!  The image in my mind is of the two of you sitting side-by-side with the spirit of Granddad hovering behind with his arms around you both.  What an awesome experience!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Well bait #1 has really shut down, went from 8 different bears on the bait to 1 that showed up and spent 45 minutes in the middle of the night last night.  I think a combination of 2 straight nights of swirling winds and shooting one bear at the site and having a bear shot about 200 yards away has really sent them packing.  Going to hunt bait #2 tomorrow and pull that barrel when we are done hunting and then I'll have one more night to hunt on bait #1 and then it's the long drive back to Virginia.  I am remaining optimistic!!

Got HAMMERED tonight.  At about 4:45 heard rumbling off in the distance.  At about 5:10 decided to make a run for the truck since we were right in the middle of a lightening cell, made it halfway and got pummeled by some big painful hail and a heavy downpour.  I can handle rain, but I do not mess around in a treestand and holding a bow with arrows in a lightening storm!
